Hi I just did a fresh gentoo install a few days ago. I installed the gnome-light meta package and have been trying to get networkmanager to work. Well it seems to work because it is getting loaded in the default runlevel, but nm-applet just does not dock. I have to start it from a terminal window each time I want network connectivity.
The gnome-light version is 2.26.3 - the latest I think, from the x86 stable branch.
Networkmanager is 0.7.1-r6, nm-applet is 0.7.1-r3, both latest versions from the x86 stable branch.
Any clues as to what I am missing?
Oh, use flags enabled for networkmanager are:
Code: | [ Found these USE variables for net-misc/networkmanager-0.7.1-r6 ]
U I
+ + avahi : Add avahi/Zeroconf support
- - connection-sharing : Use net-dns/dnsmasq and net-firewall/iptables for connection sharing
+ + dhclient : Use dhclient from net-misc/dhcp for getting ip.
+ + dhcpcd : Use net-misc/dhcpcd for getting ip.
- - doc : Adds extra documentation (API, Javadoc, etc)
- - gnutls : Adds support for net-libs/gnutls (TLS 1.0 and SSL 3.0 support)
- - nss : Use dev-libs/nss for cryptography.
- - resolvconf : Use net-dns/openresolv for managing DNS information

I HAVE searched the forums and the internet and haven't come up with anything. Any help will be appreciated. |
