I am worried about this question might be very stupid .. I have Nepomuk installed, indexing works. But so far I haven´t found out how to use this index, is there any seach funktionality where I can have a benefit from this indexing framework. Where can I type the keywords ..? Do I need to install something else? _________________ Desktop AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 32GB RAM, Asus GF GTX 1060.

using kde 4.3.4?
then dolphin has a search field
you can also type query terms in krunner
But I am amazed you have working indexing. For me
it crashes and/or runs crazy (100% cpu).
If it's working for you however can I ask this: does it
miss files you know are in your system? Whenever
I could get nepomuk/strigi to sort of work I would then
find that the indexing was incomplete. _________________ .... there is nothing - absolutely nothing - half so much worth

Using kde-4.3.3, I have strigi working, well, sort of.
krunner runs wild, crashes or is very slow, while the search fields in dolphin and lancelot work allright, except like albright says, files I know are there doesn't show up.
Anyway, when I've found a listing of files, I can open a file, but how do I know where that file resides? |

I removed nepomuk.
Maybe in the far future I'll install it again.
It is too cpu hungry and if you're a stand alone user you don't need it IMO.
Gerard.
Edit:google nepomuk and you'll see why. _________________ To install Gentoo I use sysrescuecd.Based on Gentoo,has firefox to browse Gentoo docs and mc to browse (and edit) files.

I have strigi/nepomuk running without problems and searches work fine in krunner and dolphin. I was wondering does anyone know how to enable strigi search in the kmenu search field? |
