This is for people getting an error like this:
Quote: |
process 30122: type array 97 not a basic type
D-Bus not built with -rdynamic so unable to print a backtrace
Aborted
|
I was getting these errors when opening applications like gthumb or when opening the file dialog of openoffice. There are many others. It's related to gvfs protocol changes. You can either reboot, or kill all the gvfs-* processes (my reference was: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=512461). Killing the gvfs-* processes worked for me.
Perhaps this was in the portage output when I upgraded, but I missed it. If other people did too, hopefully this post helps them. |

Thanks for that - although I only found your poast through a google search. I just got bit by the same thing - balsa crashed trying to save any file. Just killing all the gvfs processes fixed it for me. I'm pretty sure gvfs was included in the last emerge update I did. I wonder if restarting X would also have worked. |

Thank you. Took me a while to find your post...
I thought I might add some keywords for those searching the forums before posting:
firefox gimp gtk thunderbird crash save as open dialog broken
(script-fu:13868): LibGimpBase-WARNING **: script-fu: gimp_wire_read(): error
(hope that's not against forum laws )
