Hi everyone, I'm getting some sound problems when I plug in my webcam before boot. If the webcam is unplugged when booting, then everything works flawlessly.
I get the following error when trying to play any sound in Firefox and cannot hear anything:
Code: | http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-809453.html |
Same when I try to use aplay:
Code: | $ aplay /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav
ALSA lib pcm_dmix.c:1010:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) unable to open slave
aplay: main:608: audio open error: No such file or directory |
Other programs work fine as far as I know (I've tried amarok, VLC, and audacity). However if I start Skype and make a call to someone, then I can no longer receive sound from anywhere else. I get the same error as above when that happens. |
