by itself.. HELP
Hey everyone
I set the Mice P/S Input Device Driver as a module in the kernel and i added
Code: | options psmouse proto=imps |
to the end of the /etc/modprobe.conf file. I then rebooted and after Gentoo came back up it was still giving me that problem Any ideas on how to fix this situation it is extremely annoying! |

I don't recall ever needing to do that.
Why not just enable PS/2 mouse and Event interface support in the kernel Code: | <*> PS/2 mouse
<*> Event interface |
Make sure in /etc/make.conf you have Code: | INPUT_DEVICES="evdev" |
And the hald rc service started, check with rc-status
That should normally be sufficient.
If you want a console mouse, then you may need to tweak /etc/conf.d/gpm a little, but generally the default is fine for PS/2 mice. |

Take these out of your xorg.conf and restart X Code: | InputDevice "Mouse0" "CorePointer"
InputDevice "Keyboard0" "CoreKeyboard"
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Keyboard0"
Driver "kbd"
EndSection
Section "InputDevice"
Identifier "Mouse0"
Driver "mouse"
Option "Protocol" "auto"
Option "Device" "/dev/input/mice"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5 6 7"
EndSection |
Even give X a try without an xorg.conf file.
And post the output of rc-status
and your emerge --info please. |
