Hi!

My gentoo does not automount or autoeject devices like DVD's, CD's, SD memories, flash memories or my ipod.
I don't know what is happening and I don't know how to solve it.

Please help me.
If you need some extra info, please be free to ask me.

Thank you very much.

So is this a new gentoo install or an unexpected change of behaviour on an established gentoo install?

Are you using the kernel automounter, or a userspace automounter?

For gnome, kde, some other WM or console?

It happened since upgrade to kde 4.But I think that could be a problem with udev.

And I don't know with automounter am using, but tell me how can I know and I answer you.

Thank you

Okay in KDE4 automounting of removable devices is handled by dolphin, which is a new package that sort of splits off konqueror to be specifically a file manager rather than konqueror doing everything like it did in kde 3.x.

Do you have dolphin emerged at the moment or did it slip past you in the upgrade like it did me for a while?

yes i currently have installed dolphin:

Code:
# emerge -vp1 dolphin

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild   R   ] kde-base/dolphin-4.3.3  USE="handbook semantic-desktop thumbnail (-aqua) -debug (-kdeenablefinal) (-kdeprefix)" 0 kB

Total: 1 package (1 reinstall), Size of downloads: 0 kB
