Hello,
I have to set up a Server with Linux and a Mysql Database. This is not realy a Problem, but
I need a view Tuning Hints from the experts here.
System:
4 CPU 3,1 GHZ single Core
8 GB Ram
4 Harddisks at 36 GB SAS
Requirements:
1x Linux
1x Mysql
1x Apache
Usage of the Mysql
30 Databases
max 6 MyIsam Tables per Database + a view Views
Load of the Tables: Textfiles from 1M up to 3,9 GB
SQL Commands
Updates, Selects, Joins, a view Updates with full Table scan
Only one User for all Databases no concurrent sessions.
My Idea was a Ext3 Filesystem and a Raid 10 over the 4 Disks. Runlevel 3. My me I could do something with the write back time of the Filesystem, to keep as many as possible from the Files in the Ram. The Files are loaded. The sql Statements are executed and the table is truncated at the end.
I also thought it would be use full to disable the indexes at the loadtime. And I though I increase the values in the My.conf so that more Ram is used. But I don't know exactly how high.
Please If you have any Hint for me how i could tune Mysql and the Linux for this purpose give it to me.
Thank you for your Help. |
