I need to display the string '8-10' (without quotes) in a cell. No matter what I do, or what program I use, the computer ends up misinterpreting it as 10th of August or something. Can I somehow set the cell format to "shit in, shit out" (I have tried changing the cell format, but to no avail)? (I have both KOffice and OO.org.)
Thanks in advance! _________________ If you've got nothing nice to say, you're probably not alone...

Thanks in advance! | Have you tried to format it as text? I just tried it in oocalc and it works fine.
Follow these steps:
1) Select cell
2) Go to: Format->Cells->Numbers (tab)
3) Under the Categories box select Text -- there should be only 1 format option: @
4) Type 8-10 in cell |

Yes, that seems to do the trick. I thought I already had tried that, but obviously not. Thanks! _________________ If you've got nothing nice to say, you're probably not alone... |
