Has anyone successfuly used genkernel in making a working vanilla-kernel?
I emerged the vanilla-sources to try them out last night. Did a 'genkernel --config'. I tried this 3 times, because everytime it got to 'make modules' in the genkernel process it gave a message 'aborting' and kicked me back to root prompt. Anyone know whats going on here?
...I just tried it with make menuconfig...when i did make dep && I got this message and it stopped.

I had the same problem with gentoo-source/2.4.20.r5.ebuild.
I managed to emerge correctly with genkernel the mm-2.6.0_beta4_r6. |
