I got a vi book and read man vim but just ended up using nedit. why? it works the way I work. Easy! _________________ ---------------

Ok, ok, it depends on QT, but the appropriate QT-library of only 2 MB comes with it so it'll do fine.

Hehe, I did that too for a few years before I actually sat down with vim and forced myself to use it. Efficiency was down for a few weeks, but after learning a LOT of handy little commands, I can edit with vim WAYYY faster than any other editor. _________________ what up |

I personaly use vim, but in your case
try nEdit, is fast and X based |

Try using Cream; it is gVim without the modal setup, but with all of the other features.
I mostly just use regular Vim with spellchecking and mouse support enabled; that way, I can use either GPM or X for copy and paste support from other programs. _________________ [ Kawa-kun, new and improved!! ]
