CUPS says Completed but nothing on printer [SOLVED]

Hi

Printing suddenly stopped working.

Recent changes:
1. fiddled with kernel to get wifi via USB working
2. installed assorted packages related to that
3. KDE (stable) upgraded, can't remember if I printed after I did that.
3a. rc also upgraded along the way
4. have re-emerged cups and restarted it, same problem.

Printing goes through the normal dialogues, and CUPS for example will show

I had to take the box to another office, where I had another printer configured.

Printing to that worked fine.

Came back home and tried again on printer here, still won't work. Printing to same printer from other gentoo box on same network works fine.

Tried reinstalling the ppd file, still no luck.

What else can I try?

Fixed with revdep-rebuild, which recompiled a bunch of things related to ???tiff.so ....
