I've been running compiz-fusion 0.8.4 for a few weeks now. After upgrading compiz to compiz-0.8.4-r2 yesterday, now when I start compiz-manager it starts eating up 100% cpu until it eventually just freezes and gives a black screen. The black screen is after I switch consoles back and forth. Looking at htop, it appears that for a while glxinfo eats up 100% of the cpu, and then compiz itself does. The only debug messages I get are:
Code: |
compiz-manager --debug
Checking for Xgl: not present.
xset q doesn't reveal the location of the log file. Using fallback /var/log/Xorg.0.log

It takes a while for those "Checking..." statements to run through, which is why I was able to tell that glxinfo was taking up so much cpu.
Any suggestions on how to get further clues as to what's going on? |
