Does Gentoo's LiveCD use kudzu? But why the Knoppix can find all the hardwares on my IBM Thinkpad includes the PCMCIA 8139too NIC, however, the Gentoo's LiveCD can not find it?
The Knoppix uses kudzu and some scripts, it seems that our Gentoo LiveCD is using the same tools, too.
But why? Gentoo can not find my PCMCIA 8139too NIC...
Thanks and regards!

Have your resolved this?
try this, dunno if this will work with the livecd or not..
modprobe 8139too
rc-update add net.eth0 default
/etc/init.d/net.eth0 start
net-setup eth0 |

I think because PCMCIA is not enabled. _________________ Inspiron 4100 & Sun UltraAXe

stonent is right, disregard my advice sorry, pass the livecd "dopcmcia", it's disabled by default. good call
Pinto,
I think net-setup is still included with the LiveCD, I didn't check. But it's not there after the install.
If you have a question about getting your networking up, there's a whole lot about that in the Networking Forum and in the Installing Gentoo Forum. |
