I am switching over to kde 4.x. But I cannot get Akonadi to start. Here is the error log it gives me.

For one, you need 'mysql' useflag on qt-sql.
But that's just the start of the fun. |

On my ~ARCH systems, I had to run | Code: | | perl-cleaner --reallyall |
(rebuilds about 60-80 packages, depending), and then revdep-rebuild and/or emerge @preserved-rebuild just for good measure. Also, nepomuk needed to be enabled (but not necessarily strigi) in order to now get kmail working.

The 5.1 series of MySQL is going to be unmasked at the same time as the release
of this news item. When upgrading from an older major version (including 5.0),
you will be required to rebuild everything linked to the libmysqlclient.so.15
and libmysqlclient_r.so.15.
You can do this by installing app-portage/gentoolkit and running:
# revdep-rebuild --library libmysqlclient.so.15
# revdep-rebuild --library libmysqlclient_r.so.15
If you use the Portage 2.2 series, you may also use:
# emerge @preserved-rebuild

Note that existing databases may need converting as well, again including those

I solved this way:
1) returned mysql to a 100% working version (5.1.43-r3, if I remember)
2) emerge -1 dev-perl/DBI
3) emerge -1 dev-perl/DBD-mysql
4) emerge -1 qt-sql
5) perl-cleaner --reallyall , revdep-rebuild, etc.etc.
After this akonadi finally started.

| This problem did solve it self when I did a recompile of kde with the correct use flags. Thanks for the help! |
