It was around the start of March that I upgraded both KDE and Qt as described in the subject, so I'm not sure which upgrade introduced this bug, but Konqueror has been having some major issues since then. Fairly often, clicking on a link or something will cause Konqueror to freeze and use 100% CPU for several seconds. On my desktop, X might also then crash. Pretty annoying.

Anyone else experienced this kind of bug previously or recently? Thanks, cheers.

If you try it in a new testuser account, and login KDE, is the problem persistent?

Good idea, I just don't really have time to do that. :(

Oh my, yes that can be time consuming:
Code:
 ~ # adduser -g users -G lp,wheel,audio,cdrom,portage,cron,video -m testuser
 ~ # passwd testuser

Logout, login. :)

I'm sorry it wasn't obvious that what I meant was that I don't have time to test for a bug that doesn't happen reliably. If you have time to waste trying to ridicule people, why don't you test for it?

If you are not willing to accept the help offered here, why do you waste your time posting?

I only use Konqueror for things I don't want in my internet cache.
That's actually very, very rarely, but even so, I've had some issues where this happens. What can I say, I just use Firefox.
