Two novice questions:
How do you select the mirror you want when the mirrorselect selection list is downloaded? I have scrolled down to the one I want and hit 'enter' but that just bumps me back to the command line...
Is there any way to scroll back through the command lines on screen and review what has been happening? I am running Gentoo in Sun VirtualBox's, two in 64 bit W7 hosts and one in a XP 32 bit host.
Thanks |

Hi,
You select by hitting SPACE-BAR. But I think there is a bug in the mirrorselect for
sync ( -i -r) as it don't set gentoo-portage in the url. So you have to edit the /etc/make.conf
if it don't work.
You can normaly scroll back in a console by pressing shift and page-up/page-down. |

You can also let mirrorselect select the best ones for you. Code: | mirrorselect -D -s4 |
man mirrorselect wrote: | Autoselect the 4 best mirrors, it also loads a 100k file from
each mirror. The result will be written to /etc/make.conf, a
backup will be created.
# mirrorselect -D -s4 |
This one used to be in the Gentoo Handbook. Can't fathom why they took it out. |
