OpenLDAP config

I followed the OpenLDAP how to at http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/ldap-howto.xml and once I had completed all the steps I was unable to start sldap.

Basically I spent and hour searching the forums before I discovered the slaptest command which pointed out that the directory section was pointing to a directory that didn't exist. I hope this post saves someone else the headache.
