after updating from KDE4.3 to KDE4.4 the printer configuration in KDE system settings stopped working.
The GUI dialog reports:

Calling printer configuration manually from a terminal via kcmshell4 yields these status messages:

kcmshell(6086)/kcontrol KCModuleLoader::loadModule: This module has no valid entry symbol at all. The reason could be that it's still using K_EXPORT_COMPONENT_FACTORY with a custom X-KDE-FactoryName which is not supported anymore
