HP Envy 15 touchpad and gpm

So I've been trying to get my touchpad to work with gpm.

When I run without specifying a driver to use, I can't see the cursor and when moving the touchpad around it seems like it will highlight any random text blocks on its own without a button press.

When I run "gpm -t synps2", and move around on the touchpad, the cursor appears in the center of the screen, but doesn't move.

When I run "gpm -t ps2" I can move the cursor around the screen with the touchpad, but using the buttons causes the cursor to jump to the top of the screen.

Any recommendations?
