Hey, does any one know what ebuild you need to emerge to get the old BB demo? It was a ascii-art movie, meant to demonstate aalib, IIRC. I have aalib installed, but I don't see a bb-demo program on my system anywhere, and the "bb" command calls busybox.
I tried using the bb source from the web site, but there is something wrong with the configure file, and it won't let me use the aalib libraries already installed on the system. (?) _________________ Like computers but don't like programming? Then you missed the whole point.

Hi,
I would not know if a ebuild exists but how about posting the configure output that causes the source to not build, likely the library version is different, check and see it may be just a few changes or you may not have the all dependencies.
Sorry cant help more for now. |

We never actually make it to the build stage. It dies in the configure script:
Code: | checking for aa_init in -laa... no
--------------------------------------------------------
Library AA-lib is required for BB!
Please download it from ftp.ta.jcu.cz:/pub/aa
Install AA-lib into /usr/local/.. tree or just compile in same
directory as bb |
I tried looking at the configure.in, but I couldn't understand what was going on from the scripting there. I tried messing with configure options and environment variables, and also copying all of my systems libaa libraries into the bb directory, but this didn't seem to change anything.
I'm guessing I'll probably have to download the aalib source code from the web site, and build that using their package. This is already proving to be more bother than it is worth, however. _________________ Like computers but don't like programming? Then you missed the whole point.
