Edit gnome menu

Hi
I have Gnome 2.2.2 and I want to know is there any way to edit the Applications menu ?

Open a Nautilus window, and enter applications:/// as the address (you can enter just one trailing forward slash and it will still work). Some versions of Gnome should let you right click an icon in a menu at which point you can select Entire Menu -> Add new item to this menu. I can't recall whether that works in the stable version of Gnome because I am running 2.4_rc1 these days.
