|
I have been running Vbox on my gentoo box for a while now and I have never had any issues with it. Though recently I made the upgrade to KDE 4.4.2 and rebooted the machine to load into the new KDE as well as apply an unrelated kernel change. Upon rebooting, when I try to load vbox it fails. I receive this error:
Code: |

Just a thought, but with the kernel change, does rebuilding app-emulation/virtualbox-modules-3.1.6 help?
If that is the problem, look at using something like:
Code: | sys-kernel/module-rebuild
Available versions: 0.5 ~0.6
Installed versions: 0.5(07:48:42 PM 03/21/2010)
Homepage: http://www.gentoo.org/
Description: A utility to rebuild any kernel modules which you have installed
|
It doesn't do in automagically (that I know of) but running it after each kernel update / change makes it easy to avoid kernel module gotchas. _________________ I am not a number, I am a free man.
