Any one know why i would be getting this error.
I have Emerged everything i was for kerio mail server.
Have
sys-libs/libstdc++-v3
Latest version available: 3.3.6
Latest version installed: 3.3.6
Size of files: 23,458 kB
Homepage: http://gcc.gnu.org/libstdc++/
Description: Compatibility package for running binaries linked against a pre gcc 3.4 libstdc++
And yes i am using a X8_64 install so i did also did
emul-linux-x86-compat
and
emul-linux-x86-baselibs
and when i run revdep-rebuild it does not come back with any issues ?
/opt/kerio/mailserver/mailserver: /usr/lib32/libstdc++.so.5: no version information available (required by /opt/kerio/mailserver/mailserver)

| From what I understand it's due to the KMS binaries (in this case, mailserver) being built with a version of GCC that differs from that of libstdc++. You could perhaps attempt to install an older GCC and compile libstdc++ with that, but, as far as I'm aware, this is just a standard error (message) and doesn't affect the operation of, or the performance of, KMS. It was a long time ago that I moved to an amd64 system, but if I recall correctly, this error message has cropped up ever since then. So perhaps it's also due to how libstdc++ is linked on an amd64 system compared to an x86? I dunno - never looked into it but it's what I would assume is part of the issue. |

Mousee do think if i switched the system to x86 it would clear up the problem? if so do you think that would be smart when using an amd2 x4 620 chip and 6 gigs of ram? |

You could just create an x86 (32bit) chroot and run Kerio within there. I don't foresee *too* many bottlenecks going that route when compared to attempting to access 6gigs of memory with a 32bit system (basically it's a very bad idea).

In my opinion it's more work than is worth it - considering the error is only a message that indicates it can't read the version information and does not prevent normal operation of KMS in any way - but it is, at the moment, the only way to avoid getting that message at all. If future versions of Kerio Connect have the same issue I'll look into fixing it - as it is quite annoying. I've yet to upgrade to Kerio Connect though as I haven't had time to test it - but hopefully soon! |

Ok thanks for the link will check it out.
I would say it does mess with Kerio a little bit like the spam filter and stuff but you can do a few steps to get around it and thought it would be just better to fix it on the libstdc side instead. |
