|
|
It seems like HAL is getting deprecated.
So I figure I could make an attempt to remove it from my freshly installed laptop. Code: | cat /etc/portage/package.use|grep hal
sys-apps/hal policykit
x11-base/xorg-server hal
x11-drivers/xf86-input-synaptics hal |
Code: | emerge -vp world | grep hal
[ebuild R ] sys-apps/hal-0.5.13-r2 USE="crypt policykit -X -acpi -apm -consolekit -debug -dell -disk-partition -doc -laptop (-selinux)" 0 kB
[ebuild R ] x11-base/xorg-server-1.6.5-r1 USE="hal nptl xorg -debug -dmx -ipv6 -kdrive -minimal -sdl -tslib" 0 kB |
Basically, it seems like I'm using HAL for evdev and synaptics only.
I fear a good laptop power saving can't be achieved without HAL ... That would be a show stopper !
Does anyone have some advice ? Is there any specific I should worry about ?
Thanks for your attention. |
