I have an Audigy2 soundcard, loaded and ready with emu10k1 module, ive installed alsa-driver -libs -utils and -oss and I followed the steps in the alsa howto, but i can't start amixer, it returns "Default error: no such device". As the howto suggests i run insmod snd-mixer-oss, which returns errors about missing links. amixer still doesnt start. I try to modprobe snd-mixer-oss, which runs ok, but amixer still doesnt start.
I googled and got the tip to use another mixer, so i tried aumix, which ran ok, but there's still no sound in the card. If i kernel-scream (cat /boot/bzImage > /dev/dsp) it makes a noice in the headphones but not in the speakers.
Grateful for all tips |

It sorted out, i had the emu10k1 installed, apparently thats oss, and once i removed it, alsa stopped complaining. However, i still dont hear anything, after unmuting the channels and trying to aplay some waves... |
