I realize this isn't a gentoo-specific question (and may not be a kernel question even) but I run gentoo and hope someone may be able to help me. I keep /etc/ in subversion. So all directories have a .svn directory in them, including modprobe.d. On startup, it complains about /etc/modprobe.d/.svn/entries having invalid lines and soforth.
I was under the impression that all .d directories (as has been experience with cron.xxx directories and apache) ignore .directories. But modprobe isn't...
Can anyone shed some light on this problem? Maybe suggest something I could try or somewhere better to look for answers/help? Thanks in advance - I performed a risky (from my perspective) kernel upgrade from .26 to .32 including a risk-it-all udev upgrade and everything went pretty well so I'm stoked at how things are going. |
