Hi,
Yesterday, I have updated few packages including xulrunner net-libs/xulrunner-1.9.1.8 -> net-libs/xulrunner-1.9.2.3-r1. I ran revdep-rebuilt afterwards and rebuild liferea (net-news/liferea-1.4.28-r1).
From the postinstall log:
Code: |
Any package that requires xulrunner:1.9 slot could and most likely will
have issues. These issues should be reported to maintainer, and mozilla herd
should be cc'd on the bug report. Thank you anarchy@gentoo.org .
|
Today, I tried to run liferea for the first time after the update and before its window even appears segfault occures. I tried few times and I also tried rebuilding liferea again (emerge liferea).
Anyone else having the same problem? Should I report the bug?
Thanks

Have you tried to run it with a new profile ?
Code: |
$ mv ~/.liferea ~/.liferea.old
$ liferea

No, I didn't. I will try that when I'll be using that computer again. Nevertheless, the profile seems good because I have liferea running the very same profile on another computer. Not in gentoo, though. |

I had the same problem and tried with a new liferea profile. Liferea started, but opened Nautilus on every click and did not show the contents of the messages.
I then updated to unstable liferea-1.6.3, and it's working like it should.
I described my now solved problem in detail in German at https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-824473.html |

You are right. I experienced same behaviour. I'd like to continue using 1.4 version of Liferea because it is the same version as I have on my other computer. |

Downgrading xulrunner to version 1.9.1.8 works, too. Even the old profile is usable again. But clearly this is just a workaround. |
