what should i go for? what do you go for?

gentoo was my first linux experience and after ~1 year of linux i want to try out other distributions. i have gentoo on all my computers and i love it too much to wipe so i would like to try out other distributions (even proprietary OS's) as dual boots or VM's.

what is your advice?

I prefer going with virtual machines as I can tweak play, take snapshots, rekick, etc with no issues and now downtime on my working box.

In the end it's up to you but I truly think virtualization provides a huge convenience that dual-booting doesn't.
