Hi, I unmerged the old AbiWord, as I thought the features (esp in the fonts area) of 1.99 looked really nice.
However, when I launch Abiword, it gives me a fatal error, and refuses to open.
Code: |
image.c:1961: DestroyImageInfo: Assertion 'image_info->signature == 0xabacadabUL' failed.
| [/code] _________________ Face it, we are all noobs.
On the box it said it was designed for Win XP or better, so why won't it work with Linux? |

I had a similar problem. The way i fixed it was first i unmerge abiword AND imagemagick. Then emerge the latest ebuild of abiword (abiword-1.99.5.ebuild?). worked for me _________________ I wish hell would freeze over already.
EDIT: w00t, it has! |

Thanks a bunch.
That fixed it.
I love how Abi now detects mt TTF fonts, but do you know how to make the fonts AntiAliased now? _________________ Face it, we are all noobs.

I was hoping this would fix my somewhat different problem, but it didn't.
When I run AbiWord-2.0 (1.99.5) it closes with the following error in console that started it:
Quote: | $ /usr/bin/AbiWord-2.0
The program 'AbiWord-2.0' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)'.
(Details: serial 1976 error_code 11 request_code 53 minor_code 0)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.) |
Anyone see the same? Any ideas? I can't find a relevant bug report on bugzilla for Gentoo or AbiWord. Thanks in advance. |

All you need is to Unmerge ImageMagick for it to work again, no need to rebuild AbiWord.. this seems strange since the ebuild for Abiword specifies that it shouldn't use Imagemagick. |
