try emerge lm_sensors and you got one for the console, try emerge -s lm_sensors and you'll find a gui for it for kde :-)

well I recompiled the kernel and added I2C support as module, I have:
CONFIG_I2C=m
CONFIG_I2C_CHARDEV=m
CONFIG_I2C_PROC=m
and then emerged lm_sensors but I got the following errors :
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.194-gentoo-r7/misc/i2c-hydra.o
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.194-gentoo-r7/misc/i2c-i810.o
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.194-gentoo-r7/misc/i2c-via.o
depmod: *** Unresolved symbols in /lib/modules/2.4.194-gentoo-r7/misc/i2c-voodoo3.o
I continued and everything is working well but at boot time when loading modules, it fails to calculate modules dependencies.
update-modules give me the same error depmod ....
anybody knows how to get rid of this?
thanx

Try this thread:
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=7231

I think it needed the bit-banging stuff compiled as modules, etc.
