Hey anyone know why the Audacious GUI will not start when I double-click on a music file? Instead the song will play but no GUI. If I start from the console the GUI will start and if I start from the console while a song is playing the GUI will show-up and not interrupt the playback of the song. I tried revdep-rebuild but that didn't yield any answers. What's going on?

You tell us. Look at your desktop settings, to see what executable is run when you double-click the file. Or use ps ax

The executable is 'audacious2', I also have just 'audacious' available but that is just a sym-link pointing to 'audacious2'.

Incidentally, how do I find out what executable is being used in the "Open With" tab when I click on "Properties" of a file? (I'm a Gnome user.)
