Just wanted to start a topic where we stay clear of technical issues (including the most recent announcement regarding you know what), and getting the game to work with WineX (See THIS LINK for details on -that-). So on that note...
Just got wc3 today and have been rocking battle/net a few times since. So far my record is 3-1, the 3 being wins. However I'm not exactly the greatest at the game. My first win was a fluke due to the person quitting as soon as the game started, although my last two have been enjoyable battles in which I did destroy my opponent.
So I ask you people who do play on battle/net - how are you doing, do you enjoy the multiplayer and differences from Starcraft/wc2/etc, AND do you have any tips or something else of your own to add? |

Yea that's pretty much what I've been reading. Strategies and checking out replays. I think replays are some of the coolest things they've added to the game. (I never played starcraft or diablo so I dunno if they're in that). |

Can somenone explain how to install warcraft3 under Gentoo?
Please tell us how you got it working. It would be nice if someone could post a step by step guide _________________ -der kleine eine- |

1) Install WineX
2) Install Warcraft3
If you're looking for specifics on each you might want to 1) Goto the WineX site and search for Warcraft 3 and/or install instructions. Or 2) Goto the blizzard site and look up how to install wc3. |

Yup.
And I'm not using SCSI. It is an IDE writer, but I don't use the SCSI emulation. _________________ -der kleine eine- |

Just out of curiousity, why are you using "--winver win2k"? Just wondering... _________________ Even a stopped clock gives the right time twice a day. |

The cdrim is not found while the installation progress.
Code: |
6. Install it. Tell the installer to skip over the DirectX 8 installation.
|
I skipped it, and then no data can be read from my cd.
Should I use the CVS version instead the gentoo emerge version??? _________________ -der kleine eine- |

Yeah, I have copied all files on the disk. And tried to install from disk. The same error message.
I have read so many threads in this forum, but nobody had this problem too. _________________ -der kleine eine- |

yeap , it's a good game alright , wierd that the installer stops at the same place every time ,the only thing I can think of at this stage is a difference between ,cvs/ebuild and the bin, that is causing the crash ....
Cheers
