Hi all,
Well after blowing up my first Gentoo install be unmerging Python.. DOH! I have re-installed and decided to do a rsync. It chundered away for about 30 mins and then I got the following:
Code: |
...
media-video/mplayer/mplayer-0.60-r4.ebuild
7909 100% 0.00kB/s 0:00:00
media-video/mplayer/mplayer-0.60-r5.ebuild
7232 100% 0.00kB/s 0:00:00
media-video/mplayer/mplayer-0.60-r6.ebuild
rsync: read error: Connection reset by peer
rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(163)
rsync: connection unexpectedly closed (267323 bytes read so far)
rsync error: error in rsync protocol data stream (code 12) at io.c(151)
|
My questions are:
Can I still use portage safely?
Will another rsync start from the beginning?
Why did this small connection error completely halt emerge?
Will I ever get Gentoo going?
thanks for any help

Sounds like the Rsync connection just dropped out.
Try emerge rsync again. |
