Hey all,
I installed ascii-invaders and some user named "games-ded" was created. What is this user for? It has no password but a real login shell - this seems like a big security risk - what's the deal?

i think it is for dedicated servers, about security risk, i dont know, normally this users cannot do anything |

Thanks for your help. I was wondering why you think he can't do anything? He has a /bin/bash shell. I don't see how he's different from any other user (other than the fact that his home is /usr/games)?

I think most of the game ebuilds install that user now and add a games group that you need to be a member of to play games. |
