|
|
I'm using the latest bugzilla ebuild of handbrake. The button to start ripping the DVD is greyed out along with picture and chapter information (almost like it didn't find any). But it seems to read the disc and even correctly names the output MKV file after the DVD I am ripping. I found this thread that mentions a whole batch of potential fixes. But I'm wondering if anyone is using this version of the program and having any issues. If not, what kernel options, build flags, etc are you using so I can start to figure out what is going on.
*EDIT*
Forgot to mention, when I start the program in console, I get this:
Code: | ** (ghb:24216): WARNING **: returning null (AudioTrack) |

Is there any reason why Handbrake isn't in portage yet? _________________ "You can lead a horticulture but you can't make her think" ~ Dorothy Parker

Fair enough, I'll throw it in an overlay and check out what emerge -p says. _________________ "You can lead a horticulture but you can't make her think" ~ Dorothy Parker

Building it now (I wanted to update e17 first). Will edit in a sec once it's built.
I only have HandbrakeCLI, no gui... nevermind, got the GUI now.
It's grayed out here as well, now I'll be messing with it for a bit...
Meh, I unmerged it I'll just use dvdrip as before. _________________ "You can lead a horticulture but you can't make her think" ~ Dorothy Parker

Crap...
What I don't get is that I had it working before I updated my system a while back.
Maybe I should post something on the Handbrake forum and reply with any findings here. _________________ "It's ok, they might have guns but we have flowers." - Perpetual Victim |

In the meantime, check out dvdrip. I've never had an issue with it. _________________ "You can lead a horticulture but you can't make her think" ~ Dorothy Parker

I have, the problem is that a lot of the things I'm ripping has subtitles and different languages (in other words, anime), so dvdrip really doesn't have the encoders or options I'm looking for. But your right.... it's never given me an issue when I used it. _________________ "It's ok, they might have guns but we have flowers." - Perpetual Victim |

Just found this.
I appears they have a patch to fix this issue. _________________ "It's ok, they might have guns but we have flowers." - Perpetual Victim |

I downgraded to the 0.9.3 and used the 0.9999 patch and I'm working again. _________________ "It's ok, they might have guns but we have flowers." - Perpetual Victim |

Nice
The only DVDs I rip are music (Shpongle live, Juno Reactor live, Twisted, etc). So for my needs, subtitles etc aren't vital. Glad that you found a solution to the problem however. _________________ "You can lead a horticulture but you can't make her think" ~ Dorothy Parker
