alright, i've finally set up samba to (apparently) work with winbind and it seems to work fine
wbinfo -u replies with the users, and wbinfo -a DOMAIN+user%pass works fine too
but when i actually try to access it via windows (client: winxp, trying to access the shares on the linux server) it just doesn't work.
nor does telnet
telnet <linux machine>
user: DOMAIN+user
password: </me enters shadowed password>
Login failed
yet i logged on to the windows pc i'm using at work with that DOMAIN\user and password just fine...
any ideas?
help is appreciated.

let me rephrase that:
when browsing the network neighbourhood i can access it, though all i see is the printer/fax folder, and no shares, but when trying to access it with a network drive, it won't let me connect, telling me i have the wrong username.
