Hi,

I currently have a setup with kdm and XDMPC working properly, but I was wondering if it was possible to make kdm only listen to remote connections, and not start itself on the local server?

I've looked through the kdmrc files and can't seem to see anything that would allow that... Is there something I'm not seeing? I'm sure it must be possible, since the server should be able to just "server" and not start its own client.

Tks for info! :)

It's easy enough using GDM, but I have no experience with KDM so I really can't comment on that :wink:

This is the relevant section in gdm.conf:
Code:
[servers]
# These are the standard servers.  You can add as many you want here
# and they will always be started.  Each line must start with a unique
# number and that will be the display number of that server.  Usually just
# the 0 server is used.
0=Standard
#1=Standard

Just comment out the "0=Standard" line to make it not start X.
