|
|
I have two hard disks on my PC.
I wish to install Windows in a partition of a hard disk.
However, I want to create a backup of this partition in the other disk, so when I wish to erase, windows from my PC, I only format the other disk.
But, I plan to resize the disk in future, to test Linux distributions.
So, I want to know how can I restore the backup partition to the disk? |

Just for my own understanding:
- you have two hard disks (disk 1 and disk 2)
- you want to mirror the windows-partition, so that you have the windows-partition on both hard disks
- you want to play around with disk 1, test some linux distributions and so on
- you want to be able to recover your running windows system easily from disk 2 to disk 1
Correct?
I would recommend to take a look at Parted Magic. It contains CloneZilla and Partimage (amongst others), so that you can easily mirror, restore, resize, delete and edit your partitions in any way. It comes as a live cd, so you simply boot it and then edit your partition layout.
Best regards,
