I see I missed the fact that you had already uploaded your .config. Oooooops!

I heartily recommend you don't use ext4. It still causes issues. I use reiserfs-3, and have had no issues whatsoever with my file systems. Ext3 is even a better choice. I've got all the info now, and I'll be setting up your kernel presently.

Cheers,
Pappy

I restarted with a fresh seed using the latest experimental settings...which all work on my machines. You now have a very minimalist kernel. Unless there are hardware issues, this should boot just fine. It is set for ext4, and reiserfs just in case you might want to give that a go.

Click here for your new .config. Compile as is.

For the best results, please do the following:

1) Move your .config file out of your kernel source directory (/usr/src/linux-2.6.35-gentoo).
2) Issue the command make mrproper. This is a destructive step. It returns the source to pristine condition. Unmoved .config files will be deleted!
3) Copy my .config into your source directory.
4) Issue the command make && make modules_install.
5) Install the kernel as you normally would, and reboot.
6) Once it boots, please post /var/log/dmesg so I can see how things loaded.

This is most important. If there are boot failures, this is where I'll be able to see what's happening and what's causing the failure.

Cheers,
Pappy

Cool. Just change up the file system to ext3 in the kernel, and you should be in Fat City!

Cheers,
Pappy
