|
|
Hi! I have a problem... When i type revdep-rebuild i see error "[ 74% ] * broken /usr/lib64/libXvMCNVIDIA.so.256.35 (requires libXvMC.so.1)". It automatically rebuilds the nvidia's drivers but it doesnt help... I am typing revdep-rebuild again and again i see that error! How can i solve this problem?
P.S: sorry for my lame english!

mal4o,
Welcome to the Forums.
Try Code: | eselect opengl list
eselect opengl set X | where X is the number for the x11 opengl, before you do revdep-rebuild.
Do not forget to switch back to the nvidia opengl when revdep-rebuild completes. _________________ Regards,

Thanks for the answer! Your way didnt helped... so i tried to remove that file "/usr/lib64/libXvMCNVIDIA.so.256.35" and the problem is gone! But i think that this file is important and maybe i'll get another problem...
I dont wanna make other topics so...
some other question: i wanna clean up my system from the downloaded source codes... Is there any command to do that? Others distros keeps the variables in /var/ and they has commands like "pacman -Scc"... I am new in gentoo and i didnt find any command or any way to clean up useless variables>
when i am shutting down my gentoo i see " Shutting down the logical volume manager" and the system freezes. I must shut down the system with holding the power button. Any ideas? |

mal4o,
or more agressively, Code: | eclean -d distfiles | Read man eclean
If you don't have eclean, I think it is provided by gentoolkit, which you emerge in the normal way. _________________ Regards,

mal4o,
It freezes or stops after the message "Remounting root read only" ?
Thats the last step before power off. It sounds like you have a ACPI option missing in the kernel _________________ Regards,

Here is my output:
Code: | Stopping local
Stopping kdm
Stopping vixie-cron
saving random seed
Unmounting network filesystems
Stopping eth0
Stopping lo
Stopping hardware abstraction layer
Stopping D-BUS
Stopping syslog-ng
Deactivating swap
unmounting filesystems
removing dm-crypt mapppings
Shutting down the logical volume manager |
And here it stops. |

or can be a miss-configuration in the bios, right?
check the ACPI status in both. |
