Kmail worked fine before the kde 4.4 upgrade now it errors with Akonadi

tried
emerge -UNd -- world
revdep-rebuild
revdep-rebuild --library libmysqlclient.so.15
revdep-rebuild --library libmysqlclient_r.so.15
perl-cleaner reallyall
re emerged akonadi and nepomuk
followed https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-767369.html#5775290 and commented out innodb
I am not running KDE only kmail and konqueror
USE flags are

I feel like I have followed every forum link both here and for KDE/KMail elsewhere.
Please tell me what I can do to get KMail working again.

rm -fr ~/.config/akonadi |
and running
fixed all the akonadi errors and kmail starts!
but send and receive fail  if I can not fix that I will create another thread
