Hi,
I'm trying to install a fresh gentoo on my new laptop, but I have an annoying problem. Three times a second a line is written to the terminal, making it very difficult to read/write commands and getting the installation done: Code: | hub 1-1:1.0: unable to enumerate USB device on port 2 |
Is there a way to disable this usb debug message or make syslog-ng catch it?
I also thought about using ssh, but my network adaprots (wired: 88e8059, wireloss: ar9285) don't seem to be supported by the latest installation cd's kernel (2.6.31).
Any suggestions would be great. Thanks! |

boot cd, at boot prompt Assuming you can do without usb
Else use the better install cd, System Rescue CD , booted to a network connection, a GUI, and firefox open to the gentoo handbook next to the terminal window.
If you can't do a wired network, you will be best served by booting a very current livecd from another distro, ubuntu or knoppix recommended, and using that as the install platform instead of the minimal cd. |
