Hi Folks,
a colleague of mine, who is working with suse (32bit+gnome) told me, that he has sound and speech output on the guided tours of Google Earth.
On my 64-bit Gentoo Box with KDE-4.4.5 with all the latest testing packages, it can't hear any sound or voice on the guided Moon tours, but i wish to hear the voice of Neil Armstrong and the other guys.
My system sound is working properly (alsa and pulseaudio), and i couldn't find anyone on the german forum who could state, that they could hear a voice too.
So do we have some trouble with the ebuild for gentoo only, and does it really work for other distros?
Depends it on the arch you are using, 32 vs 64 bit, or on the config of the sound server you are using, or on an not known combination of USE Flags?
Wich sound server google earth is using for its output?
So what did the trick?
Google doesn't help me to find a solution until now, one e.g. http://code.google.com/p/earth-issues/issues/detail?id=199
Bugzilla also shows only different problems.
Very interested in a solution, or more details to solve this case.
Regards, Andy. _________________ If you want to see a Distro done right, compile it yourself! |
