|
Hi,
I get a kernel panic, when I try to compile Openoffice. It seems to be REISERFS related...
Here is what I get :
Code: | not syncing : <4> REISERFS Panic: vs-6030 check_internal_block_head : invalid item number level=2,nr_items=229,free-space=64104 tolkey |
Any idea ? _________________ Laptop : XPS M1330/Core2 T9300 - 2.50Ghz/2Go Ram - DDR2/250Go 7200TPM/nVidia 9200GS/Led Screen

You should backup and reiserfsck the disk... Usually errors like that indicate some corruption on disk and not related to what you're saving to disk... _________________ Intel Core i7 2700K/Radeon R7 250/24GB DDR3/256GB SSD

eccerr0r is probably right. However, first, is your gentoo on reiserfs?
A one line description is not much to go on. Does dmesg inform of anything else?
The last twice I did a reiser fsck on two separate systems, they ended up bundled in a thousand folders, basically trashed the systems. _________________ idella4@aus |

Before running fsck, check with badblocks and smartmontools for any defective sectors on the disk. Running fsck on a disk with bad sectors is a sure recipe for disaster. |
