Looks to be in stable, but I have not seen any of the guides, posts, nor gnashing of teeth associated to previous Gnome upgrades.
Is it going that smoothly for everyone with no issues?

Not to mention. Isn't the release like 2-3 months quicker than usual? Or is it just me. (I'm too lazy to look at a calender.)

Can someone tell me why do I get these downgrades day or two after upgrading to gnome 2.30, both on x86 and amd64:
Code:
# emerge -uDNpv world

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild     UD] gnome-extra/gcalctool-5.28.2 [5.30.2] 0 kB
[ebuild     UD] gnome-extra/gnome-games-2.28.2 [2.30.2-r1] USE="opengl sdl%* -artworkextra -guile -test (-clutter%) (-sound%*)" 0 kB

Total: 2 packages (2 downgrades), Size of downloads: 0 kB

FWIW upgrade went fine for me also.

I am running stable and did not need to upgrade calctool / games when going to Gnome 2.30 from 2.28.

Code:
*  gnome-extra/gcalctool
      Latest version available: 5.28.2
      Latest version installed: 5.28.2
      Size of files: 2,219 kB
      Homepage:      http://calctool.sourceforge.net/
      Description:   A calculator application for GNOME
      License:       GPL-2

*  gnome-extra/gnome-games
      Latest version available: 2.28.2
      Latest version installed: 2.28.2
      Size of files: 24,900 kB
      Homepage:      http://live.gnome.org/GnomeGames/
      Description:   Collection of games for the GNOME desktop
      License:       GPL-2 FDL-1.1

Maybe you synched to something that required the upgrade, then it was taken back?

gnome-games-2.30.2-r1.ebuild:
Drop stable keywords from 2.30, it has major regressions (half the games
won't be installed), and should have never gone stable
