|
|
Hello,
Having modified some of the options theoritically available in /etc/login.defs, I obtain un bunch of messages of the kind : Code: | Configuration error - Unknown item - 'CHSH_AUTH' (notify administrator) |
This is the case with CHSH_AUTH but as well for FAILLOG_ENAB, LASTLOG_ENAB, MAIL_CHECK_ENAB, PASS_ALWAYS_WARN et some others.
Where did I miss something in my configuration ?

Taking a quick look at upstream SVN it looks like those settings are only available when shadow is built without PAM support (as PAM uses a different config mechanism). |

It looks like I have been... like a Molière's hero... prosing without any knowledge of this...
Hopefuly... pam is running on my system without any help from myself...
Thanks a lot Genone for pointing this out.
I am going to dig a bit into pam rather than trying to tidy up login.defs ! |
