I try to install android sdk on eclipse 3.5.1 but I have lots of problems. I followed few howto in these forums, including bugzilla but to no avail. Some of the links appear to be outdated.

The error that I get is
Code:

Android Development Tools (0.9.7.v201005071157-36220) requires plug-in "org.eclipse.wst.sse.core".

I also tried http instead of https that they mention in android web site. Still no luck.

If someone has a good solution and updated, I will be glad to try it. I am totally frustated from this experience with android sdk installation.

If you installed Eclipse from portage it lacks some install sites which are in standard package from eclipse.org.

In Window -> Preferences -> Install/Update -> Available Software Sites you need to add folowing:

Android Development Toolkit: https://dl-ssl.google.com/android/eclipse/
Galileo: http://download.eclipse.org/releases/galileo
Galileo: http://download.eclipse.org/technology/epp/packages/galileo
Mylyn for Eclipse 3.4 and 3.5: http://download.eclipse.org/tools/mylyn/update/e3.4/
The Eclipse Project Updates: http://download.eclipse.org/eclipse/updates/3.5
The Eclipse Web Tools Platform (WTP) Project update site: http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/updates

BTW Don't forget to add yourself to android group to use dev-util/android-sdk-update-manager.

I finally managed to install it. I followed these links:
http://www.eclipse.org/forums/index.php?t=msg&goto=508471&
http://time-loop.tumblr.com/post/360049815/installing-android-eclipse-plugin

I also updated to sdk 2.2

Just leaving the actual minimal steps to get this working:

1) Along with the ADT link to install the plugin for Eclipse (I'm assuming you got that far), also add the Galileo link (http://download.eclipse.org/releases/galileo) and install "WST Server Adapters" under the "Web, XML, and Java EE Development" sub-group
2) Restart Eclipse
3) Install ADT plugin
4) Restart Eclipse
5) Enjoy
