I've always wondered why the e17 ebuilds never made their way into portage... |

From what I've learned the reason for e17 to not be in portage is that it's still under developement and haven't really reached a beta-state yet? _________________ //troopern

The e17 devs say (as of yesterday) it is pre-alpha. Quote: | > The problem I see, is that you cant decc or convert the edje and

luck of the draw when playing with pre-alpha software |

Does anyone know how long e17 has been at least semi-usable, but still considered pre-alpha?
Seems to me that it's racing Duke Nukem Forever to a release date. Big difference though, is that there's usable e17 code. _________________ .sigs waste space and bandwidth |

BTW, instead of making these separate threads, all e17 stuff should be directed to the "E17 is coming" thread. _________________ emerge --quiet redefined | E17 vids: I, II | Now using kde5 | e is unstable :-/ |

Their standards are pretty high (the e team). e17 is rock stable for me and has been for a while. Every so often there will be something odd, like the introduction of eio recently, so it is definitely still a work in progress.
