When using the ati-drivers in the portage tree (version 10.7) xrandr shows the following resolutions: Quote: | # xrandr
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1280 x 720, maximum 1440 x 1440
LVDS connected 1280x720+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 344mm x 193mm
1400x1050 60.0
1280x1024 60.0
1440x900 60.0
1280x960 60.0
1280x768 60.0
1280x720 60.0*
1024x768 60.0
1024x600 60.0
800x600 60.0
800x480 60.0
640x480 60.0
DFP1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
CRT2 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) | Which is not true because the monitor is supposed to do much higher. When I downgrade the driver to the 10.4 version from the gentoo-quebec overlay I get the correct resolutions: Quote: | # xrandr
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1920 x 1080, maximum 3360 x 1080
LVDS connected 1920x1080+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 0mm x 0mm
1920x1080 60.0*+
1680x1050 60.0
1400x1050 60.0
1600x900 60.0
1280x1024 60.0
1440x900 60.0
1280x960 60.0
1280x768 60.0
1280x720 60.0
1024x768 60.0
1024x600 60.0
800x600 60.0
800x480 60.0
640x480 60.0
DFP1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
CRT2 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) | Why would the later version of the driver have 'issues'? _________________ Michael |
