Hi !

When i try to emerge gnome this is what i see:

!!! Error: couldn't find match for >=gnome-base/gnome-session-2.0.2-r1 in gnome-base/gnome-2.0.0-r1

It seem a ebuild mist...

I have done a emerge rsync before !!
Thanks !

Someone else is having this problem, so it might be a temporary inconsistency among the upstream portage tree. Wait a few hours and try rsyncing again.

Well, you can try a few different mirrors, then. It also might be helpful to know if you two are hitting the same mirrors. I know it's frustrating, but look at it this way: at least someone else is able to reproduce your problem. It could be worse: you could have intermittent filesystem corruption that only occurs when the moon is in a certain phase, and that nobody else on the planet is able to duplicate. Those sorts of problems will give you ulcers.

Maybe it's not a mirror problem - maybe you have found an actual bug, but GNOME2 is still a moving target, and a big one at that. Please try to cut the developers some slack - respect the fact that they do a lot of their work in the open, and let's try not to make them feel the urge to build fences.
